Gratton (Bud) Alfred Brotherton, 88, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on September 24, 2016. Born in Given, WV on September 19, 1928, to Clinton and Hattie Brotherton, he was one of 5 children.
Gratton proudly served his country with U.S. Army Air Force, in active duty status, during the Korean conflict, with two tours and piloted over 200 mission. He continued his military career for over 25 years. He then joined the civilian workforce in the technical field of security and surveillance as well as participating in prominent space programs, including some Apollo missions and Black Bird jet, the highest flying altitude plane of its time. Gratton was extremely devoted to his family. He was blessed with a fantastic sense of humor and found great joy in helping others during their time of need.
Survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Isabelle. Gratton will be laid to rest beside his wife at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery during a private service with Military Honors.
