IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Giuseppe "Joe"
Dimartino
November 18, 1948 – December 6, 2022
Guiseppe DiMartino, known to most as Joe, of Coral Springs, FL peacefully entered into eternal rest with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Antoinette DiMartino, as well as his children Sal DiMartino and Donna Auker. Also left to honor his memory are his four grandchildren, Dominic, Michael, Lily, Matthew and his sister Josephine Capizzi.
Joe was born on November 18, 1948 to Salvatore and Maria in Polizzi Generosa, Sicily. In Sicily, as a boy and teenager, he helped to work on the family hazelnut farm in the Madonie Mountains. He didn't like school and would go and play cards with the neighborhood men at the local cafe. At the age of 16, in January 1965, he emigrated from Sicily to Brooklyn NY. He worked briefly in the garment factories before training as a Barber. In 1968, he met his wife, Antoinette and they married in 1970. Together they welcomed two children into the world while he worked tirelessly as a Barber to support his family. In 1988 he moved his family from NY to Coral Springs, FL. That year he began working at Vincent's Barber Shop where he worked until his retirement at the end of 2019.
Joe was a genuinely kind, fun loving, warm man to those that knew him. He loved to play poker, golf, travel and cruise with his wife as well as hosting the holidays. Whether you were a family member, friend or a customer, he would try and put a smile on your face every time he saw you. A proud husband, father, son, brother, uncle, father in law and grandfather. Family meant everything to him. He always worried about everyone's wellbeing and did whatever he could to help. That's who he was and he will dearly be missed by all that were blessed to know him. As an alternative to flowers which are welcomed as well, the family would offer the option of donating to either Wounded Warrior Project https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ or Cure Childhood Cancer https://curechildhoodcancer.org/
Services for Joe are in the care of Coral Springs Funeral Home. Please share your memories of Joe or leave your condolences to his family with this Online Guestbook.
