Obituary

On July 23rd 2019, Gerard Max Hollant, from Tamarac, Florida, passed away at the age of 76. He is survived by his beloved wife Marlène, his three children Magaly, Max Junior and Paolo, their grandchildren Chrystelle, Paola, Laeticia, Max Edward, Elodie and Tao and finally by his in-laws Pascale, Arabelle and Pierre.

If one thing is for sure, it's that he found his soulmate in this life. He and his wife have spent the last 56 years loving and caring for each other. And it is certain that, even though he is no longer amongst the living, Marlène will continue to love him for the rest of her days.

He was born in the city of Les Cayes, Haiti on February 22nd, 1943. He was the third of four children. His siblings Myriam, Marcel and Michèle loved him dearly and he loved them unconditionally. From a very young age he took on many responsibilities from which he never backed down. He was known to be a man of his word, a man of principle, honest and trustworthy. But above all these qualities, what characterized him the most was his selflessness, he always put everybody else before himself. He was a generous man with a good heart. He loved God and was a devout Christian.

Max had a taste for art, he loved beautiful, pure  and simple things. He took on painting and left us with several beautiful pieces.

The love he laid upon his family was legendary. Max was a great husband, an incredible father, a supporting brother, a loving father-in-law, and the best friend anyone could have ever wished for. The only way we can repay him is to follow in his footsteps. He may not be physically present but he lives in each and every one of us.

May he rest in Peace!

"As you leave this world and prepare to go on to the next, I want you to know that you will never be truly gone from this one. Our family will always continue to honor you, your life, and your legacy. A flare of your soul and your essence exists in each and every one of us because of the actions you took in this life; and with every interaction we make, that flame, your flame is shared. The ripples you've made in this life have started chain reactions in us and those who come after us that will not dare stop unless time itself does, and in this sense you will be eternal. Forever loved and never forgotten.

We love you."
