Eugene "Gene" O'Hara, 79, of Tamarac, FL died on February 27, 2014 at University Hospital. Gene was born on December 1, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to Patrick and Anna O'Hara. Gene was a happy-go-lucky Irishman. Extremely funny and very loving, his favorite pasttimes are watching television and drinking coffee. He was a man of great faith and was a parishioner of St. Malachy Catholic Church. Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Rose O'Hara; their children, June Harpster and Robert (Fenny) O'Hara; and grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Christine, Kelly, and Mark. Gene was preceded in death by his two brothers and one sister. Friends may call on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Coral Springs Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with a 6:00 P.M. Wake Service. At 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 3, 2014, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Gene will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
