Frederick Raymond Gilliam, 55, of Parkland, FL passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014. Frederick was born August 28, 1959 in Newark, NJ to Raymond and Rita Gilliam.
Fred was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Florida State Seminoles, San Diego Chargers and the New Jersey Devils. His favorite pastimes include boating, skiing and participating in bike tours for charities. Fred also loved to travel with his family. His choice destinations included Northern California, Colorado and the Caribbean. In his younger years, Fred traveled with the Grateful Dead and wrote a book about his journey as a "Dead Head." He received a Doctorate from Columbia State University and after 30 years in the Quality Industry, he began his own business which has been very successful for the last 7 years.
Frederick is survived by his loving wife, Maria; children, Alexander Schraff and Krysta Schraff; his brother, Michael Gilliam; and his sister, Denise Warakomski. He also leaves his nieces and nephew, Brittany, Caitlyn, and Connor; and his mother-in-law, Concetta Bruno, to cherish his memory.
Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Coral Springs Funeral Home. A Wake Service will be celebrated at 7:00 P.M.
