Frank W. Sporrer, 80, of Smithtown, NY passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013 in Parkland, FL. Frank was born November 9, 1932 in Germany to Francis and Maria (Freuchtner) Sporrer. Frank loved German music, dancing, golf, and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and home imprvement. He was a member of the German American Club, Medford Choral Group, and a lifelong Teamsters Member. He is survived by his children, Frederick (Jean) Sporrer, Lori (Jeff) Hochman, Barbara (Greg) Walker; his son-in-law, James Wellinghoff and his partner, Angela; and his grandchildren, Tracy, Kelly, Caitlin, Samantha, James, Matthew, Lindsay, and Scott. Frank also leaves his partner, Urte Schaedle, and his brother and sister, Joey and Marion to cherish his memory. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Sporrer, and daughter, Nancy Wellinghoff. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Branch Funeral Home in Smithtown, NY from 6:30-9:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. Frank will be laid to rest at St. Charles Cemetery.
