Frank A. Cuniglio, 79, of Coconut Creek, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Tuesday, Christmas Day 1934 to the late Joseph Cuniglio and Laura (Barbieri) Cuniglio. His sister Jesse was also there to welcome her "Brother Dear" into the world. Frank enjoyed a childhood filled with stickball, baseball, boxball and other athletic pursuits eventually winning a spot on the famous Brooklyn Blue Jays baseball team, after attending New Utrecht High School. Later on in 1951, Frank met the love of his life, Joann, and never looked back. They were childhood sweethearts, married in 1957 and they proceeded to build a life based on family, love and laughter in the Garden Spot of the World Brooklyn, USA. He graduated from the New York School of Printing and was employed with Benziger Brothers Printing. He pursued several other vocations while raising a family, prior to beginning a career with the New York City Transit Authority in 1972 as a bus operator, winning many safe driver awards. He eventually retired to Coconut Creek in 1994 with Joann, where they fully enjoyed the new lifestyle and the fruits of their labor. They enjoyed traveling both home and abroad, and cruised often. Frank was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and during his younger years, the New York Yankees (which he later swore off for the Mets - you go Pop!). As a child of the '50's, he loved Doo-Wop music and classic cars, particularly his beloved cream and orange '55 Olds. Franks career did not define him, but rather did his role as respectful son and brother, loving and faithful husband, devoted father, uncle and grandfather and dedicated friend. Most of all what defined Frank was the unmatched ability to make those around him laugh, to feel comfortable, and to perhaps at least for a time, to take life a little less seriously. He set life examples for his sons, nieces, nephews and grandchildren of hard work, dedication, and selflessness. He mostly wanted people to enjoy themselves; his humor and affability were truly infectious, and many who came in contact with him has a "Frank memory" that could bring them to tears of laughter. He loved his wife and extended family fiercely, and it is with a tremendous source of true pride, deep gratitude, and endless love that we thank him for the imprint he left upon us all. Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years Joann (Coconut Creek, FL ), and sister Jesse ( Delray Beach, FL), sons Joseph (Teresa) of Tampa, FL and Adam (Patricia) of Brooklyn, NY, as well as grandchildren, Rose, Olivia, Laura, Alexander, and Mia.
