Frank G. Arena, 85, of Boynton Beach, FL and formerly of Coral Springs, FL and Plantation, FL passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 25, 2016. Frank was born on January 26, 1930 in New York City, NY to Salvatore and Jennie (Lunetta) Arena.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dolores; his children, Frank (Kathy) Arena, Peter (Agnes) Arena, and Salvatore Arena; grandchildren, Kimberly, Frank V., and Anthony Arena; and cousins, Marie Myers, Lorraine Giglio, and Francine Giglio.

Frank was raised in New York City and sought a career with the one of the nation's most trusted names in law enforcement, NYPD. He began his career as an officer with Port Authority Police and later transferred to New York Police Department. After his retirement from NYPD, he started his second career with the US Marshals Service as a Special Deputy. He spent a several years in New York with this title before transferring to the Miami office and relocating his family to Coral Springs, FL. Prior to his law enforcement years, Frank served in the U.S. Army.

Frank loved to laugh and was notorious for his corny jokes. An all-around genuine "nice guy," he would do anything for anyone. He had a passion for older, antique cars. Frank had a love of travel, too. His favorite destinations included Alaska and Panama.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Coral Springs Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 29, 2016 at St. Andrew Catholic Church with burial to follow at South Florida National Cemetery.
