IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Francis Dwayne
Goodman Sr.
June 25, 1928 – January 21, 2023
Francis Dwayne Goodman Sr, 94, of Sunrise, Florida entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 21st, 2023. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will join his parents, Roy and Florence Goodman of Humansville, Missouri as well as two sisters and three brothers.
Frank was born on June 25th, 1928, in Gordon, Nebraska and was the third child out of eight. He was a farm boy and contributed heavily to his family's farm as well as summer work in the wheat fields of Western Kansas. At 19 years old, he enlisted in the Army and served 20 where he had several assignments in different states as well as countries. During service, he took a few years' break to attend college at University of Kansas. In college, he studied microbiology, immunology, and virology. He said he always wanted to be a scientist and ended his formal educational journey with a master's degree in micro cost analysis.
Besides his love of science, Frank had many other hobbies and interests. As a young boy, he loved fishing in the creeks and rivers in Missouri. As he grew older, he found a love for reading, writing poetry, and listening to music. His friends and family would know him for his wisdom and wit; he always had a joke or story to tell.
Frank is survived by five children, Francis Jr, Suzanne, Kimberly, Venita, and Cort from his first wife, Patsy Hughes. He is also survived by two more children, Omar and Nysrene, with his second wife, Aysheh. Also, to cherish his memory are 19 grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren. He left us peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral service will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023, at 10:00am. He will receive a veteran burial with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to be made to the United Service Organization (USO). Donations can be made [Here]
