Marie "Flora" Menikou, 84, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at West Boca Medical Center. Marie was born January 22, 1929 in New York to Gus and Catherine Menikou. After high school, Flora attended Art School in New York. Shortly thereafter she married Norman Schwartz and together they had 3 beautiful children while living in Livingston Manor, NY. Flora retired to South Florida where she began working for Publix in the Bakery. She was an extremely hard worker and did not call in sick once during her 15 years of employment with them. She was rewarded for her efforts with a Service Excellence Award. More recently, Flora was a permanent fixture around her daughter's salon, Jody Jack & Co., in Boca Raton. In her spare time, Flora enjoyed drawing portraits using charcoals and pastels. She treasured the time she spent with her family and attended church every Sunday. Flora loved the holidays and all the activities and generosity they brought. Flora is survived by her children, Robin (Tim) Pinckard, Jody Jack and her fiance, John Watson, and Bryan Schwartz; her grandchildren, Jason Cali, Arthur Schwartz, Chelsea Jack, and Rebecca Schwartz; and her sister, Marie Costello. A Memorial Service will be held at 7PM on Friday, October 8, 2013, at Calvary Chapel, Boca Raton, 1551 W. Camino Real, Boca Raton, FL 33486.
