Obituary

Fernando Beltran, 55, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after an unexpected tragedy in September. Fernando was born March 7, 1958 in Callao, Peru to Luis and Luz Amparo Beltran. In 1982, Fernando was living in La Punta, Peru. On a usual trip to the beach, he met the woman who would become the love of his life, Sonia. They were married in 1984 and welcomed twin daughters in 1986. That same year he also graduated college with a Doctorate in Law. Then in 1989 the family decided to move to the United States, where they settled in Coral Springs, FL. Fernando and Sonia had their family grow by two more feet when Alonso was born at Coral Springs Medical Center in 1995. Fernando worked at Publix while he studied to become a paralegal in the U.S., only to later decide that real estate was where his true passion was. He became a Realtor for Century 21 Tenace Realty where he was very successful. Fernando was an extremely hard worker and enjoyed happy hour with his coworkers. He was very intelligent and would read dictionaries just because. He spoke Spanish, English, and Italian. Fernando will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the pranks he would play on family and friends. Although he often had a tough time telling his twins apart, he was an amazing father to his children. His son was his best friend and they enjoyed watching soccer, going to hockey games, and playing ping pong together. Fernando loved to eat. Potluck get togethers and Barbeque's were his favorite! He also loved the outdoors. Every morning he would ride his bike around the block. He was an excellent swimmer and loved to go paddle boating. He made sure to walk the family dog, Brownie, each evening. Above all else, the beach was Fernando's favorite place and he often went there for peace and reflection. The Beltrans are parishioners at St. Andrew Catholic Church where Fernando was an usher for the 9:30 A.M. Sunday Mass. Fernando is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia; their children, Andrea, Alessandra, and Alonso Fernando; and his mother, Luz Amparo Beltran. He also leaves his siblings, Eric Beltran, Yvonne (Luis) Mathey, Jossy Beltran, and Michael Beltran; his nieces and nephews, Johanna, Jorge, Angelina, Giorgio, Kayden, Nathaly, Alexander, Christian, Madeline, Luis, Jackie, Tonito, and Luis Manuel; his sister in laws, Maria (Jim) Svendsen, Mary Catherine Segota, and Ana (Ellar) Montesinos; and his In laws, Piedad & Jorge Alarcon to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Luis Beltran and brother-in-law, Emilio Alarcon. A Memorial Service will be held at Coral Springs Funeral Home on November 12, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Alonso's College Fund. Please make checks payable to Andrea Beltran or Alessandra Beltran.
