Fausto G. Mieles, 88, of Coral Springs, FL went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 7, 2014. Fausto was born June 20, in Manabi, Ecuador to Eduardo Fausto and Josefa Gloria Mieles. He grew up in Guayaquil, Ecuador with his parents, brothers, sisters and extended family. In his early forties he decided to embark on an adventure and immigrated to New York with his family. Fausto worked full time with Amtrak , Madison Square Garden, and the NY Board of Education in custodial engineering to support and raise his family. For a greater part of his life, Don Fausto, as he was lovingly called by all his friends and family, was the tried and true President of "La Liga Deportiva Ecuatoriana de Indoor Futbol," an Ecuadorian Soccer League in New York City. One of Don Fausto's favorite things to do was pack up the kids, make some sandwiches and walk on over to Shea Stadium to cheer on his beloved Mets. In the early '80s Fausto accomplished one of his greater dreams becoming a home owner in Corona, Queens were he lived until a little under a decade ago. He retired from his jobs at age 65. In his late seventies Fausto relocated to Florida with his wife, daughter and two grandchildren. Don Fausto created a wonderful life for himself and not only his immediate family but extended family alike. He was very patriotic and had an authentic love for this country he called home and relished in the "American Dream." He was always a proud and knowledgeable man. He celebrated life and love in all ways. He was an orator with a talent for eloquent speech. He captivated folks with his warmness and bright light. He welcomed everyone into his home and was truly devoted to his family. His love for his wife and children was unwavering and ardent. Don Fausto will always be remembered as a fun loving, easy going, hard working, man who was full of integrity and joy. He gave of himself often, never asked for anything in return, his love was unconditional. Fausto is survived by his beloved wife, Julia E. Mieles; his children, Jacqueline E. Mieles and Fausto R. Mieles; his children in love: Dora A. Ponguillo, Sonnia I. Aponte, and Eduardo F. Falconi; his siblings, Ligia, Elena, and Agusto; He was preceeded in death by his siblings, Dalila, Olmedo, and Senefelder Arnulfo; and his daughter-in-love, Katherine McLaughlin. His legacy continues with his grandchildren, Carmen, Patricia, Julie, Farrah, Franklin Jr., Andres, Stephanie, Desiree, Gregory, and Christopher; and his four great grand children, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will always cherish his memory. Friends may call on Tuesday, February, 11, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Coral Springs Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at St. Andrew Catholic Church with burial to follow at Lauderdale Memorial Park.
