Frances Jill (Olszewski) Amos of Coral Springs, FL passed away on February 19, 2016 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Stan and Betty (Giddings) Olszewski of Zephyrhills, FL.
Jill is survived by her loving husband, Bill, children Ben (Brittany) Amos of Denison, TX and Alexis (Aaron) Saari of Portland, OR and grandchildren Sidney and Knox Amos of Denison, TX. Jill is also survived by her siblings: Michael (Liddy) Olszewski, Patricia Melin, Judy (Francis) O'Connor, and Jean DeLong. She will also be missed by Bill's siblings: Terry & Lilly Amos, Sharon Miller, Bobby Amos, Pam & Dave Munson, Peggy & Mike Ellis, Pat & Millie Amos, and Suzanne & Dan Shaw; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Jill was born on August 4, 1951 in Grand Rapids, MI. After moving to Kalamazoo, MI in 1965 with her family, she met Bill, the love of her life, and they married in 1976. They moved to Florida in 1981 and Jill began her career with the U.S. Postal Service. After retirement, her love of animals, especially her beloved dachshunds, brought her to work at the Coral Springs Animal Hospital where Jill's reputation as the "Honey Badger" was well deserved. Jill was fearless and tenacious in all regards but she also relished in her role as Mother Hen to so many of the hospital staff who truly loved and respected her.
Always described as beautiful and funny, Jill stood out in a crowd, fashionably dressed and appropriate for the occasion, with perfect eyebrows and eyelashes that were to be envied. A happy, cheerful person, Jill never complained and always had a smile on her face and a kind word for most everyone. Her laughter was infectious and will never be forgotten. Family and friends were most important to Jill and she was also known for her amazing culinary skills and keeping a beautiful home. She was truly an angel on earth who inspired us all to be better, stronger, loving and caring people.
Special thanks to the staff of Vitas who cared for Jill in her final days and the many doctors, nurses and hospital staff who helped Jill on her journey.
