Ernestine Richardson Woods, 81, of Lauderhill, Florida entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 1, 2024. She is survived by her Husband of 56 years, George R. Woods, as well as her daughter Ramona A. Woods. Also left to cherish her memory are her 2 grandchildren, Jaquan and Gianna, and her great grandchildren, Zhavia and Lailani. In death she leaves a close loving brother, Cornelius Richardson as well as Sister-in-Law, Frankie Richardson. She is preceded in death by her daughter Linda D. Tyson.

Ernestine was born on January 1, 1943 in Irvine, Florida to her parents Jessie and McKinley Richardson. She attended Elementary and Junior High schools in Reddick and High School in Fessenden. She attended Hampton Junior College in Ocala, Florida, Columbus College in Columbus, Georgia and Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. Ernestine met Sgt Woods when she and her best friend Ella Smith attended a Military Service at Fort Stewart, Georgia. While married Ernestine continued her education, made a commitment and dedication to the Department of Defense Education Activity for over 20 years.

Ernestine was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. Her special interest was reading and volunteering in schools.

Visitation will be private and the Family thanks you for your care during this time.

Chapel Service will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, 12:00 PM at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33449.

Burial will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, 2:00 PM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 FL-7, Lake Worth, FL 33449.

Repast will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, 2:30 PM at Palm Beach National Chapel 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33449.
