Elizabeth I. Vazquez, 72, of Coral Springs, FL, passed away on July 06, 2015. Betty, as she preferred to be called, was born on October 29, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Johanna Nagy. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Louis; her children, Brian (Tracey) Vazquez and Renee (Jamie) Couret, and David Vazquez; and her grandchildren, Jesse, Taylor, Megan, Lydia and Nicholas.
Betty is of Hungarian descent but was raised in Detroit, MI. Having met her husband while vacationing on Miami Beach during Spring Break, she returned back to Michigan where she was reunited with Louis and were married. After a few years, they returned to Miami where they met. They owned and operated several car dealerships near Kendall. Betty loved being around children and she drove a bus for both Gulliver Academy and Palmer Prep where she was also the cafeteria manager. She then moved on to work for and later retired from Ryder Truck corporate offices in the benefits department. It was Betty's passion, however, to raise and care for her children in the most loving way. Betty loved to travel and was an avid beach goer by heart. She loved to swim since she was on the High School swim team and loved to play chess. Later in life she had a stroke at the age of 65 which left her left arm paralyzed and had limited mobility in her left leg, but she was able to get around with a walker. She was a stubborn person who would remember everything and everyone and she had her own way about her, but who doesn't. She was the communication cornerstone of our of family keeping in touch with all until she was called home to rest in peace.
