Edward William Bartnick, 92, of Tamarac, FL passed away on March 8, 2016; a mere four months after his beloved wife of 67 years Adeline. He was the final survivor of nine brothers and sisters, and is now survived by his children, Barb Farinella (Joe), Bev Sinople, Stan Bartnick (Jacqueline), and Karen Cantilena. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lisa, Jennifer (Otto), Jim (Jen), Scott (Jessica), Anthony, Kelly (Leo), and Christie; and great grandchildren, Dylan and Aubrey.
Ed "Chick" loved athletics, participating in basketball, baseball, weight lifting and later in bowling and golf. He loved the outdoors, especially walking and fishing. Ed also enjoyed spending an afternoon watching the horse races. He was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. Ed proudly served his country with the United States Army during World War II.
Doc, as he was affectionately known by everyone he kept the company of, was a Doctor of Optometry in Chicago. He owned and operated Northwest Optical in Chicago until his retirement in 1988 from the practice. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14th, 2016 at Coral Springs Funeral Home from 8:30-9:00 AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 9:00AM. Doc will be laid to rest with his beloved Bu at South Florida National Cemetery.
