IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edgard
Brisard
September 27, 1931 – December 5, 2020
Edgard Brisard was born on September 27, 1931 in St. Michel Haiti. On December 5, 2020, Edgard Brisard, the youngest of 3 predeceased siblings, son of Luc Brisard and Victorine Latortue-Brisard died peacefully at the age of 89.Edgard who was affectionately known by Tiga, is survived by his loving wife Anne Marie of 59 years, and his 3 children, Alex (Glenda), Ralph and Gardy (Marc), Goddaughter Yasmina, predeceased by his infant son Luc. He was blessed to have 12 grandchildren- Rakell, Marc II, Zipporah, Kathleen, Naomi, Sydney, Caleb, Taylor, Pharah, Ralph Jr., Michael, Sarah, one great-grandson Cairo, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
On March 4, 1961, he married the love of his life Anne Marie whom he called Claudie or lovingly Mommie. During their courtship in Haiti, he would often sing to her outside her window to get her attention. They left Haiti and began to live the story of so many Caribbean (Haitian) immigrants in the United States. It's a story of sacrifice and selflessness. It wasn't enough for him to dream of a better life here for himself and his immediate family, he also committed to make this dream a possibility for so many others by offering a place where these other dreamers could find a safe haven in their own life journey.
Tiga was a successful entrepreneur that worked hard and dedicated his life to care for his family. As the patriarch of the family he adored his numerous nieces and nephews - Yanick, Frantz, Serge, Yolaine, Guerda, Guy, Rico, Rene Jr., Carol and his well known favorite Chantal (Chan Chan). He was deeply loved by them all.
Tiga was politically involved in Haiti elections. He desired to see his beautiful country of Haiti return to the place he once loved. You would always catch Tiga in his signature dance move by the sound of any beat. He enjoyed playing tennis, swimming and walking daily, listening to Haiti news, watching sports, loved the Price is Right, Jeopardy, and the Wheel of Fortune. Most importantly he enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends.
He grew up with many of his remaining Brisard cousins - Jean, Tony, Yves, Tita, Eddie, Evelyn, Naud, Harry, Suze, Yolette, and Michele that were more like brothers and sisters to him. His love for family extended to his remaining in laws - Eric, Auriol, Edvard, Gardith, Manite, Kerne, Marie Carmel, Patrick, Myriam, Raymond, Denise, Karyn and often stressed the importance of staying connected with family.
Tiga was a God fearing man that read his Bible daily and studied early in the mornings with his bible study group. He was a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, caring uncle and great friend to many. He will be dearly missed by all.
Rest well Tiga. We will love you forever.
