Easton A. Hooke, 70, of Coral Springs, FL entered eternal rest on Monday, October 9, 2023. He is survived by his wife Rose of 38 years; Five (5) Children – Breleith (Husband Eric), Mark (Wife Kareen), Judine, Kimberly (Husband Kaif), and Andre. Seven (7) Grandchildren – Chelsie, Mark Jr, Olando, Abigail, Andre, Amanda, and Elijah. Twelve (12) Siblings – Dawn (deceased), Erroll, Terrence, Monica, Rose, Keith, Marlene, Charmaine, Wilton, Carlos, Barry, and Dawna. A plethora of nieces, nephews, family members (by marriage), and friends in Jamaica and the Bahamas.

Easton was born on May 9, 1953, in Kingston. Jamaica, to Idolyn Dawkins and Easton Aloysius Hooke Sr. He was affectionately called Winston or Skinny (because of his slim stature) by his family and friends. He grew up at 90 Waltham Park Rd then moved to Pembroke Hall. He attended Jones Town Primary School and Kingston Senior High School, where he represented his school playing cricket as a spin bowler and opening batsman. At Kingston Senior, he also harnessed his skills in Electrical Engineering and Welding.

Winston was fun to be around although he was quiet, he would often make us laugh. Winston was all about family and his family came first. He was a no-nonsense person, if any of his family members were violated, he was ready to confront the perpetrator(s). Winston was also an avid beer drinker…he loved his beer, and we affectionately teased him about his beer belly. When it came time for Winston to settle down, he proposed to his then fiancée Rose whom he had been courting, and they got married in 1985. In the pursuit of an opportunity for his family, like most immigrants he moved permanently to the United States in 1997 where he worked until retirement.

Sleep in Eternal Peace Winston. A life well lived and loved. We will miss you dearly.

Visitation will be held at Coral Springs Funeral Home on October 26, 2023, from 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Cremation to be followed.
