Douglas Charles Mihalek passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022, in Margate, Florida.  He was 76 years old.

Born in Bridgeport, CT on August 29, 1945, Doug was the beloved son of the late Stephen and Florance (Binns) Mihalek and the admired older brother of the late Paul Mihalek, Ann Ippolito and Patricia Folger. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Florance Atherton and her husband Bill of Grand Isle, VT, Katrina Masse  and her husband David of Fairhaven, MA. and sister-in-law Linda Mihalek of Windsor, CT.  He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and his former wife, Maureen.

Doug lived half his life in Huntington, CT where he proudly served as a fire and ambulance volunteer. After relocating to Florida, Doug worked in the automotive industry and retired from the City of Deerfield Beach.

Doug will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, quiet demeanor, and his love of Volkswagens.
