Obituary

Diane Nannette Phillips, 72, of Boca Raton, FL passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 29, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Diane was born on June 13, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to George and Ruth Cohen.

Diane grew up in New York where she began her career as a merchandise buyer. After moving to Florida, she transitioned to a management position with Carnival Cruise Lines. She truly enjoyed her job and it carried over into her personal life, where she was an avid shopper for everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She particularly loved children and it brought her great joy to spend countless hours with them, shopping for the perfect gift for each child.

When you think of Diane, you think of hearts... she surrounded herself with them, hearts for wearing, decorating and sharing. She was bubbly, fun, outgoing, upbeat and passionate. Passionate about traveling, especially to Italy; passionate about music, especially Andrea Bocelli and Il Divo; and she was passionate about great food and fantastic parties. Most importantly, she was passionate about her family and those she loved like family. Diane was loving, generous, and kind to all who met her, never meeting a stranger.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Everette D. Phillips; her sister, Phyllis Hoynacky; her aunt, Florence Salzman; her children, Donna Phillips and partner Sandy Shore, and Mark Phillips and his wife, Becky. Diane also leaves her nephews, Michael (Magaly) Chernow and Adam (Molly) Chernow; great nieces and nephews, Michael Paul, Gabriella, Maryn, and Adaline; and her cousins, Barbara (Dr. Herb) Okun, Lorraine (Sid) Fein, Kenny (Wendy) Salzman and their children, Brittany and Jake, and Arlene (Michael) Sokolov and their children, Evan and Erica; and a host of friends from Carnival Cruise Lines and worldwide to cherish her memory.
