David Nixon, 68, of Coral Springs passed away on Saturday August 8 th 2020.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, his son Sean Nixon and his wife Stephanie Vianelli Nixon, his son Colin Nixon, and his granddaughter Aisling.  He is also survived by two brothers Terry Nixon and Lewis Nixon.

David was born on May 30 1952  to William and Drusilla Singletary Nixon in Jackson TN. After spending his childhood in Jackson David moved to Daytona Beach, FL  He attended Seabreeze High School where he participated in JV Football, Basketball and Track.  When not involved in sports David played the drums in the band. David attended Daytona Beach Community College and Florida Atlantic University where he received an MA in English.  After starting his teaching career with two years at the Prep School of Boca Raton David was hired to teach English at Palm Beach Community College where he taught for 37 years.

David had many interests including chess, golf, basketball, coin collecting, painting, reading and writing.  For years he was the moderator of the Chess Club and he initiated the Creative Writing class on his campus. He loved spending time with his sons from coaching their basketball teams to being on the Field Crew for Colin's high school band and enjoying the IAFA activities with Sean.  Family was important to David and he was a great husband, father and brother.
