David Gregory Gaines, 58, passed away peacefully at his home in Coconut Creek, Florida on Friday, February 8, 2013. A 1973 graduate of Park Ridge High School, David maintained many lifelong friendships from his boyhood town. He was born on Friday, January 28, 1955 in Buffalo, New York to Patricia (nee Kelleher) and Herbert Gaines and was a loving son. David's life was colorful and varied. His jobs ranged from mechanic to cook and reflected his hands-on talents and interests. He enjoyed skiing, appreciated motorcycles, excellent cuisine, and great rock 'n roll bands. He played guitar, could craft the flight of a golf ball and was deft on the tennis court. He will best be remembered for his sense of humor, philosophical insights and his love of family and friends. He is survived by his parents, his brother Michael and his wife Anne of Bridgewater, NJ; his sister, Jan Sullivan and her husband Tom of New Hope, PA; his sister Virginia Boenigk and her husband George of Westwood, NJ; his sister Elizabeth Amrose and her husband Joe of Cranford, NJ; his sister Barbara Farrell and her husband Michael of East Hanover, NJ; and his adopted brother, Manny Lopez of Westwood, NJ. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Chris, Erin, Michael, Ryan, Laura, Keri, Brian, Danny, Shannon, Jessica, Dylan, Sydnie, Cassidy, Jayden, Aidan, Addie, Ellie and Felix who will dearly miss Uncle David. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 2:00 P.M.- 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. A Wake Service will take place during the evening visitation at 6:30 P.M. with Rev. Guy Fenger officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 A.M. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Frank Kulik officiating. Burial will follow at the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in North Lauderdale. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at the Park Ridge, NJ, Elks.
