"Chickie" Mary DeStefano, 84, of B'klyn, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Hospice by the Sea Care Center in Boca Raton, FL. Chickie was born on June 10, 1929 in Jersey City, NJ. Chickie loved to play bingo and continental. She would also spend many hours knitting and crocheting. In her more recent years, Chickie enjoyed watching old movies on Turner Classics. Although she was a stubborn woman, Chickie was extremely generous. She would give whatever she could. She had a great sense of humor and if she busted your chops, you knew you were truly loved. Survived by her children, Lulu Scavone, Joey DeStefano, Fran DeAviero, and Mona DeStefano; 8 grandchildren, Bob Jr., Kim, Kris, Joseph, Danielle, Jenna, Zack, and Samantha; and 5 great grandchildren, Jack, Nicolas, Christian, JoJo and Maddy. She also leaves her last surviving sibling, her sister Doris and her brother in law Ralph to cherish her memory. Lets not forget her kitty, "Pinky." Chickie will be joining her late husband Joe who has passed on 7/21/2000. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, November 19 beginning at 6:00 P.M., with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 P.M.
