Charles Edward Kane III (84) passed away March 26th. He was the son of the late Charles Edward Kane II and Mary Catherine (Dimond) Kane and was born August 1st 1936 in Johnstown, PA. He attended Southmont High School and was a graduate of the Cambria-Rowe Business College. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 37 years. He enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and retired after 25 years. In his early years, Charles was a member of Visitation of the BVM Church where he married his wife Mary Doretta (Werner) Kane (who passed away in 2010). Later, he and his family attended St Clements Church in Upper Yoder. For 56 years, Charles was active in the Legion of Mary in Pennsylvania and later in Florida. He was also involved in Mom's House and the Pro-Life movement. After he retired, he and his wife moved to Florida where he was active in St Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Palm Coast, and later, St Henry's parish in Pompano Beach. Charles is survived by his brother Dr. John Richard Kane and his wife Audrey of Fox River Grove IL, his two sons Mark Patrick Kane of McCandless PA and Terrance Richard Kane and his wife Leona of Johnstown PA, his friend Walter Rogal of Pompano Beach FL, as well as six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two nephews and a niece, and many great friends.
