Davis Sr.
October 28, 1933 – July 5, 2023
OBITUARY FOR CHARLES IRVIN DAVIS, SR.
Charlie Davis Sr. of Coral Springs, FL, passed away on July 5, 2023 at the age of 89 following a period of declining health.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ronda C. Davis, as well as his four children; Charles I. Davis, Jr. and wife, Cindy; John W. Davis and wife, Bobbie Lee; Kimberley A. Davis, Angela Pickhardt and husband, William. Also surviving are nine wonderful grandchildren and nine precious great grandchildren- plus many other family members and great friends. He was preceded in death by his brother John H. Davis, Jr., his sister, Doris Avese Davis Peak, and his parents, John H. Davis, Sr and Evelyn Avese Davis.
Charlie was born in Bulloch County Georgia on October 28, 1933, the son of John H. Davis, Sr. and mother, Evelyn A. Davis. His father passed away when Charlie was only one year of age. His mother proceeded to take her three children to Miami, Florida where she had relatives and could find work to support herself and her children.
Charlie completed two years of active duty in the Korean Conflict and remained in the U.S. Army for six years in reserve. Upon return to the States he again worked in the electrical trade and was a proud member of Local Union 222 of the IBEW. Charlie worked with and ran many large high voltage electrical companies through-out the United States and Saudi Arabia. He formed his own company, Electrical Technologies Corp. in 1984 and brought his two sons into the business. He was very involved in Miami in the Masonic Order as Master of Opa Locka Lodge #287 and a member of the Mahi Shrine, Scottish Rite, and the York Rite. After moving to Dahlonega, he became a member of Blue Mt. Lodge #38. Charlie and his wife, Ronda discovered Dahlonega in 1992 and realized immediately that "this was their new home."
He proudly served nine years on the Lumpkin County Planning and Zoning Board, was one of the first to place commemorative flags on the city square, and was a devoted member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Charlie dearly loved his work, his family, and his Lord.
The family will receive friends and family at Coral Springs Funeral Home on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM.
