Miami native and longtime South Florida resident Carolyn Ball Hermance went to be with the Lord on July 4th at University Hospital in Tamarac, Florida. She was the oldest daughter of Hugh M. and Frances Ball, who had moved to Miami from Georgia in the 1920's. She was married to Chuck Hermance, who preceded her in 1983, and they had three children. The oldest, Gary, preceded her in 1993.

Carolyn was proud of her Florida roots: attended Miami Edison High, was a member of Miami Central Nazarene Church for several years, and raised all 3 children here. When the kids were old enough, she went to work , first for Tamiami Trailways, then for USF&G insurance, from where she retired.

In retirement, she became a big professional golf fan, and enjoyed attending several tour events over the years. She was also an avid reader. But perhaps her biggest enjoyment came from being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother, in which she excelled.

In addition to Chuck and Gary, Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one grandson. She is survived by sister Jeri Laule of Melbourne, Florida, daughter Melanie Englert of Sunrise, FL, and son Terry Hermance and his wife Katherine of Oklahoma City. Additionally, she is survived by 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was greatly loved, and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 7, 2011

A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Savino-Weissman Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Reverend Larry Bergstrom officiating.

Entombment will follow immediately after Funeral Services on Friday at Fred Hunter's Memorial Gardens, located on 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024 954-989-1550
