Obituary

Carol Ann Young, 68, of Coral Springs, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach, FL. Carol was born December 29, 1944 in Baltimore, MD to Elmer and Catherine Bavis. On November 28, 1964, Carol married the love of her life, Stanley R. Young III. Together they had three beautiful children. In January of 1983, the Young family made the move from Baltimore to Coral Springs where they currently reside. Carol was a artist of sorts. She loved all things crafty and particularly had a knack with cross stitch. If she wasn't in the garden tending to her lovely African violets, she was most likely out shopping! A devout Catholic, Carol was a parishioner of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Parkland, FL. Her religous background paved the way for her to learn the values of family and hardwork. While Carol held a few occupations throughout her life, she will be most remembered for her mothering duties, the assistance she gave in caring for (spoiling) her beloved grandchildren, and her fourlegged family members. Travelling to visit family was another of Carol's joys. Most frequently she visited family in Maryland, North Carolina, Minnesota and Ohio. Carol is survived by her husband, Stanley R. Young, of 48 years; their son, Stanley "Rick" Young IV; and daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Scheetz, and Amanda Young. Also left to cherish her memory are adoring grandchildren, Mason, Austin, Kyle, Brayden; her siblings, Shirley, Walter, and Bill; and very dear friends, Danny and Peggy. Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Donald. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Carol will be laid to rest at South Florida National Cemetery with a private committal service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to American Cancer Society in Carol's Memory. Please visit: cancer.org/donate
