Carol Ann Salazar, 64, of Coral Springs, FL passed on to eternal life Thursday, April 21, 2016. She was born in Hialeah, FL to John and Frances Meshensky on November 10, 1951.
Carol spent her life devoted to others. Her career as a registered nurse, which began at age 18, afforded her the privilege of caring for the sick and their families. Always with unending compassion, she used her nursing talent in ICU/CCU and in patients' homes. Her skills led her to administration where she guided others with her vast knowledge and experience. As a wonderful mother and grandmother, she loved doting on her children and grandchildren. As an active member of her church and her community, it brought her great joy to volunteer as a youth minister (1989-1993) and to continually support today's youth ministry. We are unable to count the many lives she has touched because those who received her kindness and compassion are presently passing it along to others.
Carol is survived by her husband, Ed; children, Jennifer (Jim) Chiarello, Shawn (Chris) Gordon, and Brian Salazar; mother, Frances Hinkle; brother, Paul (Martha) Meshensky; aunt, Faye Valerio; and mother-in-law, Ruth McGee. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law to cherish her memory. Carol was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Salazar.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. (Wake service at 6:30pm) at Coral Springs Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
In honor of Carol's devotion to youth ministries, the family requests donations be made to Mary Help of Christians Youth Ministry in lieu of flowers.
