IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carmen
Ramos
June 5, 1933 – April 20, 2021
Carmen Celia Ramos, 87, of Coral Springs, FL, joined the love of her life, Luis Manuel Ramos, in eternal rest on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021.
Carmen was born on June 5th 1933 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Secundina Carrion and Prudencio Ruiz. Raised by her mother and her step-father, Lorenzo "Cha" Ressy, Carmen was the second eldest of her siblings.
Carmen was more of a mother to her siblings than a sister. She cared for them from the age of 9, while she was still a child herself. She lived longer than any of her siblings, even though she started suffering from kidney disease early in life, with no conventional medical treatment available. Later in her life, after retiring from a career as an educator, she took care of her grandkids and several children in the neighborhood. She enjoyed keeping her mind sharp with word puzzles and socializing with her friends. She and her husband were very active in social activities within the Latin community. They were devoted to God and their church.
When you would see Carmen, you would also see strength and love."Strength" and "love"; two words that meant so much to her and drove every decision she made. Carmen had an immense appreciation for traveling and experiencing the world, whether through being a constant presence in her family's lives or visiting a new place. She spent most of her life experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime love with her husband. They had a "forever love" that surpassed this world. Carmen is loved and admired by many outside of her family. It is a bittersweet joy for her family that she is now reunited with her soul mate. As the realization that we no longer have our matriarch here with us settles, the weight of the void in our hearts gets heavier.
Carmen is survived by her three sons and their wives: Louis, Jr, and Patricia, Hector and Beverley, and Eddie and Jennifer; her grandchildren: Luis III, Vilon, Rachel, Kristen, Erik, and Kevin; and her great-grandchildren: Syncere, Mckenzie, Taylor, Nastasia, and Khalyl Jr.
Carmen is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Luis; siblings: Gilberto, Lorenzo, Carlos, Hilda, Carmen "Picha", Luis, Zorida, and Jose; and her parents.
