Carmen, affectionately known as 'Margie' by family & friends will be greatly missed by extended family which consists of cousins and many friends who were like family to her.

Carmen was born on June 28, 1953 in New York, NY to her parents Gamalier Acosta and Teresa Orta. As young girl she enjoyed fashion, experimenting with hairstyles and partying. She met her then future husband, Earl Mark, at a party. Together they moved to San Luis Obispo, California in 1979 and raised three children. They relocated to Coral Springs, Florida in 1993 with their two youngest. For 30 years, south Florida has been her home.

Carmen loved hosting, music, dancing, and the beach. Her love of music was just as eclectic as her personality. She enjoyed listening to Soca, Salsa, R&B, Oldies, Jazz, Disco, and Pop. Her music selection was just as flavorful as her menu selection. In the home, she was her husband's sous-chef in the kitchen and enjoyed sharing it with others. Margie was the life of the party. When she enters a room, she always puts a smile on your face whether it be at a restaurant, at work, at home or at the grocery store. She exuded joy and laughter freely. Carmen was also affectionately known as "Wella" by her grandkids. They will miss their "Wella's" love, infectious laugh, her hugs, and kisses on their foreheads. She will be remembered for her smile, her vibrant spirit as a sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.
