Carmen Gautreau, 88, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on October 18, 2015. Born on December 6, 1926 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Raul and Aida Aristy Gautreau. Carmen is survived by her children, Hamlet (Ana) Cuesta and Edna (Felix) Ortiz; grandchildren, Hamlet, Javier, Jocelyn, Alex and Michelle Cuesta and Jacqueline, Jessenia, Jovanna Jill, and Jennifer Ortiz; her great grandchildren, Hamlet, Isabella, and Lian Cuesta, Samantha Cuesta , Landes Rivera, Candida Rivera, Journei Leah Cuesta Tillman and her sister, Maria Celeste. She was preceded in death by her son, Luis Cuesta and her brother, Rafael.

Carmen was beyond generous, prided herself on not only helping others but giving of herself always. Carmen always offered all those she came in contact with even her last few dollars, anticipating what everyone needed far beyond and before what they even knew they needed themselves. She taught her children and grandchildren to always give to those in need, raising them to make sandwiches and gifts for the needy. She even remarkably helped build houses for the poor in her country. The strength and courage she displayed throughout her life transcended to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren teaching them valuable lessons that will carry on her legacy and her saintly ways. Carmen shaped the lives of so many people with her helping hands, open heart and selfless ways. Thank you all for helping us celebrate and continue to remember Carmen's elegance, grace, humor and love.
