Obituary

Calvin Moliere Desir was born on November 10, 2002 at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Even since birth, his mother Tania Wright knew he had greatness in him. Calvin always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help others. Anyone that knew him would agree that he had a special gift of discerning when others needed support or attention. He was always attentive to others even without them outwardly expressing their pain and always knew the right thing to say, with his softly spoken voice. Calvin enjoyed riding his bike with his friends, cooking and trying new recipes with his mom.  He had an especially close relationship with his mom, they did everything together.

Calvin was selfless. He served as an active member of the Fort Lauderdale Kappa League, Gateway Church GEN180 Youth Ministry and The Dennis Project "Game Changers", all teen engagement programs in Broward County. As a member of these organizations, Calvin volunteered at events like the Dr. Martin Luther King parade and served underprivileged communities by distributing health information and building things with the children in those communities. He volunteered at voter's registration events, the Sistrunk festival and on occasion at the Broward Health Feeding the Homeless Lunch during Thanksgiving. To further demonstrate his acts of selflessness, Calvin chose to feed the homeless with the Fort Lauderdale, Kappa League for his birthday last year.

Calvin attended Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School, and as a Sophomore had dreams of attending the University of Florida and becoming an architectural engineer. In pursuit of those dreams, Calvin began taking on special design projects around the house and finding new ways to challenge his skills. He loved designing the landscape among many other projects around the house. Calvin could be seen in the local hardware store with his father Brenton surveying or purchasing stuff for home improvement projects on any given weekend. This was their special father and son bond time, priceless.

On March 23, 2019 Calvin transitioned to be with his Lord and Savior. Calvin is survived by his parents Tania and Brenton Wright, sisters Brittany and Aniyah Wright. He also leaves behind Grandparents Beverly Gooden, Great-Grandfather Stanley Briscoe, Uncles - Matthew McDonald, Donald Findeson, Jerome Gooden, Bradley Wright, Aunts - Junella Gooden and Joanne Gooden, Shenika Barrett,  Grand-aunt Tiffani Briscoe, God-mother Louverta St. Victor and a host of cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly.
