Robert "Bob" Stanley Lane, 78, of Tamarac, FL passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Robert was born April 17, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Charlie and Nettie Lane. Bob married his beloved, Helen, 25 years ago in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They resided in North Lauderdale for a few years before making their permanent home in Tamarac. For a number of years Bob owned a trucking company that moved furniture across the country. Bob will long be remembered for his spectacular sense of humor and the jokes he played on those he loved. He was an extremely kind, generous, and sentimental gentleman who not only loved to travel but was adventurous. He enjoyed watching Nascar, listening to the sounds of the 50's and country western music, and collected model trucks and cars. Bob is survived by his wife, Helen; and his children, Robert (Debbie) Lane, Lori (John) DeSantis, James (Dawn) Lane, and Chris (Lisa) Lane. Bob also leaves his stepchildren, Richard (Mimi) Hokenson, JoAnn Richards, Nancy Abbondanzio, Barbara (Augusto) Bocanegra, and Robert Hokenson; 25 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his son, Eddie, and his brother and sister. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071.
