Benito "Benny' LoBracco, 86, of Margate, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013. He was born on Sunday, March 27, 1927 in Licata, Sicily; the son of Gaetano and Rosa LoBracco, and one of 7 children. The family relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where he met and married the love of his life, Sarina "Sara" 58 years ago. Benny and Sara raised their 4 children in Brooklyn, surrounded by their extended family. They moved to Staten Island with their grown children, and then the entire family relocated to Coral Springs, FL in 1990, and then to Margate, FL. Benny was a Baker, it was his passion, and by tasting his delicious desserts, anyone could tell. Everything he baked, from bread to cookies and pasteries, was amazing, No family dinner or holiday was complete without Benny's desserts. He was a Baker in the Korean War, where he proudly served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army. Benny was always proud of his Italian heritage, but was proud to be an American Citizen. You could always tell which house was Benny's, as it was the only house in the neighborhood who proudly flew the American flag for Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, President's Day, and the Fourth of July. Family was the most important part of Benny's life. Everything he did in life, was for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His family was the biggest and best accomplishment in life, and meant the world to him. There was nothing greater to him than Sunday dinners at 3 pm, with his home filled with laughter, yelling, and the smell of sauce with his entire family. He instilled in his children the importance of family, and that was passed down and always remained constant. Benny was richer than most people, because of the love he and Sara created. Love and family was what he worked for in life, and he achieved that. He was loved and adored by the best family. Benny was preceded in death by his loving son, Tom LoBracco. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Sara; their children, Pat LoBracco, Roseann LoBracco, Perry and Opie LoBracco, and Lucy and Mike Porzio; their grandchildren, Kristina, Eddie, Danielle, Jake,Tommy, Michael, Benny, Sara, Sarina, Thomas, Robert, Matthew and Angelo, their great-grandchildren Gabriella, Giuliana, Brianna, Eddie, and Joey, his sister and brother in law Aurora and Frank Bona, his brother and sister in laws Jimmy and Francis Graci, and Lena Graci, his dearest friend, Rose Paparella and was Uncle Benny to many.
