Barbara Ann Wallace, 83, of Coral Springs, FL passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Barbara was born on Saturday, October 4, 1930 in Bronx, NY to Ernest and Lillian (Murphy) Baker. She was raised in Tenafly, NJ and lived the majority of her adult life in Toms River, NJ where she raised her family. Barbara relocated to Sebastian, FL in 1980. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, playing golf and tennis, and being with her family. In 2003, she moved further south to Coral Springs to be close to her children. Barbara is survived by her children, Catherine (Ed Hanson) Whitney , Cynthia Van Schoick, Jonathan (Tana) Whitney, Daniel (Michelle) Whitney, and Trish (Tim) O'Connor; her step-sons, Doug Wallace and Bob Wallace; and her grandchildren, Andrew Wallace, Jonathan Whitney, Michael Whitney, Jeff Van Schoick, Julia Whitney, Bruce Whitney, Grace Whitney, Hayley Whitney, Mikayla Whitney, Addison Whitney, Lily O'Connor, and William O'Connor. He is also survived by her twin brother, Bruce Baker, and siblings, Ken Baker and Emmy Baker Fotheringham. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John William Wallace, and her brother, Donald Baker. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Vitas Hospice, especially Chris and Marie, and her caring nurses, Michelle and Pat. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071.
