Obituary

A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, Arthur Joseph Suchocki, 68, passed away with family present at his home in Sunny Isles Beach, FL on April 5th, 2013. The son of the late Alex and Florence Suchocki, Art was born August 2nd, 1944 in Saginaw, MI. Art graduated from Saints Peter and Paul High School (Saginaw, Michigan), received his BA from the University of Dayton, his MA from Kent State University, and, his ABD from the University of Wisconsin. Art enjoyed fishing, golfing, tennis and boating with friends and family. His family meant everything to him. Art was an English Professor at the University of Nebraska (Kearney, NE), the document specialist for Newberg Construction Company at the Marble Hill Nuclear Power Plant and a manager at Grote Manufacturing. He was a member of St. Patrick"s Catholic Church, Wentzville, MO.; The Elks (Madison, Indiana Lodge) and the Madison Country Club. A sport's enthusiast, Art created the Boys Tennis Program at Shawe Memorial High School in Madison, IN. He also served as the president of the school board. Art is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bobbe Suchocki; son Adam Suchocki and wife Laura; daughter Ann Suchocki-Mason and husband Jim; daughter Erica Schroeder and husband Brian; daughter Rebecca Suchocki; granddaughters Alexandra and Evelyn Suchocki; brother Monsignor Jim Suchocki; sister Judy McCartney and late husband Tom; sister Mary Ann Moore and husband Jerry; brother John Suchocki and wife Mona; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Visitation services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Savino-Weissman Funeral Home in Margate, FL with prayer service and memorial presentation beginning at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Monsignor Jim Suchocki, will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale, FL. Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Friends of Shawe and Pope John c/o Ann Suchocki at 2526 Forest Lane, Madison, IN 47250.
