Armimda P. Garrido, 85 years old of Plantation, Florida passed away on September 28, 2012 at St. Catherines West Rehabilitation Hospital. She was born on December 8, 1926 in Beni, Bolivia. She was a hard working seamstress. In 1968, at the age of 42, she migrated with the family to the United States to strive for a better life opportunity. She has always been extremely dedicated to her family. At age 57 after her son Jaime lost his wife to cancer she became a full time mother to his 3 infant children. She was a woman of undeniable faith. She instilled moral values, a hard work ethic and the importance of education to all of her children. She was a firm believer of " due to others as you would like done to yourself". Even as a young woman she loved to be adventurous and explore, which she was fortunate to be well traveled. She was always very direct, confident, outspoken and loyal. She enjoyed going to church, family gatherings, eating out, shopping, watching her novellas and reading her favorite Spanish gossip magazines. Arminda has left her footprint on this earth and her legacy will live on through her family. She is survived by her 3 children Marie (Olgui), Maria Leda (Chichi) and son Jamie Sr. (Paco), 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren . She will be missed very much by her immediate & extended family, friends and all that knew her.
