IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony Stanley
Zawackis
August 2, 1958 – August 3, 2019
On Saturday August 3rd, 2019, Anthony Stanley Zawackis loving son, brother, uncle,
companion, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 61 surrounded by family
members.
Anthony was born August 2nd, 1958, in Philadelphia PA, to John and Mary Zawackis. Anthony
was raised in Philadelphia alongside his three brothers and two sisters. Throughout his school
years he attended Catholic school. Anthony began working young, his first job was as a
paperboy where he broke records for top paper sales. As time went on he continued breaking
records from selling out of oil at his uncle's gas station to selling out tables for restaurants and
the list goes on. He also had many other occupations such as bartender, carpenter, sports
coach, water quality technician, hospitality "wiz" and musician to name a few but he was most
proud of his job of being a father. When Anthony was 24 he moved to South Florida in the
pursuit of creating a better life.
From an early age Anthony always loved music, sports, and family this was a strong part of his
upbringing. Anthony took a particular interest in the musical instrument the Harmonica. This
talent took him many places. Some even referred to him as the "golden lung". He enjoyed many
genres of music such as classic rhythm and blues as well as rock and roll. Tony highly enjoyed
sports as it kept his mind going. He was a big fan of all Philadelphia teams as well as certain
individual athletes. But the most important thing to him was his family and their wellbeing.
Tony had a larger than life personality. Whatever room he walked into he would make it move
whether it be through his musical talent, his bright expressive clothing, his charming open arms
personality and charismatic sense of humor. Tony was capable of being such a warmth to the
heart and sense of security to the mind. If you were in the room with him you were guaranteed
to smile.
Anthony is survived by his daughters Dominique, and Donnatoni, his son Dennis, grandsons
Anthony and Brayden, his mother Mary, his brothers Nicholas (Lynn), Edward (Maria) , his
sisters Joanne and Diane, his nephews Nicholas, Duc, John , and Jimi, and his nieces Olivia ,
Maya, and Angie.
Anthony is preceded in death by his father John Sr., brother John Jr., and the mother of his
children and love of his life Donna.
