Anthony Joseph Scott Perez, 45, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 4, 1968 to Antonio and Maria Perez and raised in North Miami Beach through his early teens alongside the sister he loved and adored, Julia Perez, then later in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Anthony's desire to serve his community began at an early age. In 1989 he joined the local New Rivers Volunteer Firefighters Association, a division of the Broward County Fire Department where he proudly served for nearly 10 years, first as a Fire Fighter, and later promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Anthony would continue his love of serving his community by becoming a Dispatcher for one of the largest Accredited Sheriff's Departments in the nation, the Broward County Sheriff's Office, where he proudly worked for 15 years. Anthony will be remembered by his friends and family as a man who was always willing to give if he had it, lend a helping hand when it was needed, and never ask for anything in return. He is survived by his Mother Maria, his Father Antonio and his sister, Julia, and of course a LONG list of friends and family who will miss him greatly.
