Angelina Eileen Kelly, 86, of North Lauderdale, FL passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Tootsie, as she was affectionately known, was born September 25, 1927 in Cromwell, CT to Louis and Josephine Di Mauro. Angela grew up in Cromwell, CT with her parents and three siblings. She met the love of her life, John Kelly, while working at the local grocery store. On September 20, 1947, the two were married at St. John's Church in Cromwell. They relocated to Ft. Lauderdale in 1953 to raise their family and made Florida their permanent home. They were inseparable until Jack's death in 1983. As the offspring of a true Italian family, it was Angela's mission to feed everyone that entered her home. She was best known for her sense of humor, kindness to others, grace, and killer tuna salad. Angela had a passion for life, the ocean, and butterflies. She loved to be around others, often playing cards and bingo with her friends. Angela also enjoyed bowling, ice skating, softball, and was a world class shoe thrower! She was blessed with the amazing ability to relate to people of any age, and kept everyone laughing with her great sense of humor. She was a grandmother to many, regardless if they were family or not. But her true passion and love was the togetherness of her family. It was with them that she was the happiest and most at peace. Angela is survived by her loving children, Jackie (Bob) Mazzaglia, Marlene (Larry) Kaydas, and Brian (Christine) Kelly; her adoring grandchildren, Robin (Terry) Nicholas, Kelly (Vinny) Sokol, Lynn Mazzaglia, Kristy (Chris) Tavano, Kayla Kaydas, Kimberly Kelly, Brooke Kelly, John Kelly, and Thomas Kelly; and her beloved great grandchildren, Angela Sanchez, Donald (Erin) Geiger, Cody Nicholas, Destiny Nicholas, Eric Gonzales, Austin Culler, Anthony Giraldo, and Jude Tavano. She also leaves to cherish her memory her great great grandchildren, Cameron Sickinger, Faith Sanchez, Colston Geiger, Kelsie Nicholas, and Arianna Geiger; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Alice She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; two children, Kathy Bohlander and David John Kelly; a grandson, David John Geiger; her sister and brother-in-law, Tina (George) Pirruccio; two brothers, Rosario (Tom "Babe") (Jean) and Sebastian (Sonny) Di Mauro. Friends may call on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 4:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Coral Springs Funeral Home, 1420 N. University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with burial to follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in North Lauderdale, FL .
