Obituary

Albert Charles Rogers, 73, of Parkland, Florida, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Al is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Diane Rogers & his loving children Travis Rogers & Heather Clark-Rogers(Dale Clark). He is further survived by his grandchildren Kaden and Kody Clark, as well as his Siblings Virgil Rogers (Brother), Timothy Martin (brother in law) Kimberly Martin (sister in law) Skip Standfest (Brother in law), and Marietta Rogers (sister in law). He was proceeded in death by his parents John Rogers (father) & Sevart Rogers (Mother), as well as his siblings Ada Standfest (sister) & John Rogers (brother).

Al was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan on September 15, 1953 to the union of Sevart Shanlian and John Rogers. He was raised both in Utica, New York as well as Washington, Michigan- where his parents owned a restaurant called Jolly Rogers. That very restaurant is where he learned his hard work ethic. He opened his first business, Macomb Septic, at the age of 18.

Giving, Joyful, Kind - these three words define Al's legacy and are what he will forever be remembered for.

Al loved Jesus, and he would make sure we all knew who the ruler of his life was! He never missed an opportunity to share Jesus with anyone; Whether it was the strangers he would pick up and help along there journey, (which were many!) or his close family and friends, Jesus was always the center to any focal point of any conversation you had with him.

His hobbies early on were his work. Al loved being on a bulldozer; he loved running heavy equipment of all kinds, and he didn’t just love it, he was great at it! Al's passion for work gave him a work ethic that was unmatched! He never missed a call and made sure nothing ever got in the way of getting the job done. That work ethic showed up in every area of his life, creating his big personality and huge drive which are found in his family today who he rubbed all that off on!

Another passion of his was the mission field where his heart was the biggest! Al loved missions and loved helping missionaries! He spent lots of vacation time in the mission field, especially at Tapestries of Life, where his heart was just the biggest!

Al found another passion later in life, and that was his grandson’s. He didn’t just show up to every ball game and cheer Kaden or Kody on, he became everyone’s papa when there was game going on. He could be heard very loudly cheering all game long! His favorite words were always; “That’s my grandson!” Whether at a baseball game or football game he was known throughout every park as Papa Al or what most people said, "that’s Kaden and Kody’s grandpa". Al loved to watch FoxNews and when he was watching TV in the evenings there was no doubt what he would watch first. He also enjoyed watching home renovation shows, real estate shows like Million Dollar Listing, Shark Tank & Gold Rush, but he couldn’t stomach a hallmark movie (so mom and grandma would torture him with from time to time).

In lieu of flowers Al's family kindly requests that donationa be made in his memory to Tapestries of Life, supporting the mission & missionaries he loved so dearly. https://tapestriesoflifeministries.org/donate
